Introducing MentorHackathon
MentorHackathon is a signature program of MeetMentors that brings together mentors and young mentees from across Africa, in a mentoring workshop.
MentorHackathon 2020
MentorHackathon 2020 will take place online (zoom) on Friday, November 28, 2020 between 17:00-19:00 GMT (5:00pm-7:00pm). The event is intended to engage mentors and college students, recent graduates, and young talents from across Africa. The theme for this year’s event is Bake It For The Cake, implying the need for young people in Africa to fully commit to the course that would enable them see the success they are aspiring to achieve.
Speakers
MentorHackathon 2020 will feature three speakers. George Sarkodie, Founder and Team Lead at MeetMentors, will address the need for young people in Africa to embrace mentoring for their own development. Lena Gronbach, Founder and Director at Africademics, a South African based organization, will talk on scholarships for academic and career success. The third speaker, Dr. Dominic Agyei, a food scientist and lecturer at the Department of Food Science, University of Otago in New Zealand, who is also a mentor at MeetMentors, will provide participants with key tips on setting academic and career goals to support their dreams.
There will be a period for Questions & Answers for each of the sessions.
